The amazing folks over at Google.org are doing some cool stuff these days. “Google.org is investing $11 million in technology to expand the nathion’s geothermal reserves. That’s more than the U.S. government is spending on geothermal projects this year.” Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS), have recently secured some good VC funding. The idea looks promising. I think this a great step forward. It will take ages for U.S. government to come out of the whole beaurocratic process, satisfy all the oil drillers, and generate substantial momentum towards alternative and renewable energy sources.
